Chairman of the Alliance for Economic Research and Ethics, Dele Oye, has commended the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, for his role in protecting Nigeria from more than $14 billion in major international arbitration claims.
Oye praised Fagbemi’s efforts in handling the cases, describing the outcome as significant for Nigeria’s finances and the protection of public resources.
He said the successful defence of the claims demonstrated the importance of effective legal representation in protecting the country’s interests in international disputes.
Oye urged continued strengthening of Nigeria’s legal and institutional capacity to manage international arbitration matters and safeguard public funds.
