Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has commissioned the newly renovated International Conference Centre at Adamawa State University, Mubi, describing the facility as an important addition to the institution’s academic and administrative infrastructure.
The centre, formerly known as the Multipurpose Hall, was commissioned on Thursday, September 17, 2026, after being upgraded with modern facilities to meet international standards. It is designed to host conferences, seminars, workshops and other academic and institutional activities.
Represented at the ceremony by the Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta, Governor Fintiri commended the university management for its commitment to infrastructure development and urged the institution to ensure the effective and sustainable use of the facility.
Vice Chancellor of ADSU, Professor Augustine Clement, appreciated the Fintiri administration for its continued support to the university, saying the project reflected the government’s commitment to strengthening education and institutional capacity in Adamawa State.
Professor Clement also acknowledged the contributions of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund and other partners to the university’s development. He disclosed that ADSU was expanding its transition to solar energy, with significant parts of the campus already connected to solar power to reduce dependence on conventional electricity.
The commissioning of the centre marks another step in the university’s efforts to provide modern facilities that support academic activities, innovation and sustainable institutional development.
