Air Traffic Control Failure Delays Flights at UK Airports

Flights at several UK airports were delayed on Monday after an air traffic control problem affected operations, NATS said.

Manchester, Glasgow and Belfast airports reported delays linked to an issue at NATS’ Prestwick control centre in Scotland. Flights travelling north and departures from Scottish airports were particularly affected, while airports south of Manchester were largely operating normally.

NATS said the disruption was unrelated to a separate failure earlier this month that caused about 2,000 flight cancellations after a software defect disrupted air traffic control systems.
