Federal Government: Nigeria’s Insecurity Is Not a Religious War

The Federal Government has declared that Nigeria’s ongoing security challenges should not be described as a religious war.

The government said the insecurity affecting parts of the country is linked to terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other criminal activities rather than a conflict between religious groups.

It urged Nigerians to reject narratives that could heighten religious and ethnic tensions, stressing the importance of unity in tackling the country’s security challenges.
