Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has urged political leaders and stakeholders in Northern Adamawa to put personal interests aside and support candidates based on competence, character and commitment to the development of the people.

Governor Fintiri made the call when he received political stakeholders and supporters from the Northern Senatorial Zone at the Government House in Yola.

The delegation visited the Governor to express appreciation following the selection of Adamu Kamale as the APC Deputy Governorship candidate to Ahmed Tijjani Galadima for the 2027 elections.

Fintiri urged stakeholders in the zone to remain united and return to their respective communities to begin early mobilisation across wards and polling units ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He stressed that unity and collective political strength would be important in securing greater development and representation for Northern Adamawa.

The Governor also advised political leaders to avoid divisions and work together in the interest of the people, stressing the need to support policies that promote development, unity and good governance.

He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as policies that have helped states and local governments manage their financial challenges.

Earlier, leaders of the delegation, including Bubakari Kamale, Ambassador Kelvin Peter and Musa Isa Konkol, expressed appreciation to Governor Fintiri for the choice of Adamu Kamale as the deputy governorship candidate.

They described Kamale as an experienced political leader capable of contributing to the development of Northern Adamawa and the state at large.

The delegation pledged their support for the APC ahead of the 2027 elections and called for the achievements recorded under Governor Fintiri to be sustained and further developed for the benefit of the people.
