The Borno State Police Command has warned residents against using skating shoes on public highways, saying the practice could obstruct traffic and endanger other road users.

The warning was contained in a public safety advisory issued by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Daso.

According to the police, the advisory followed concerns over individuals skating on public roads in ways that interfere with traffic and pose risks to motorists, pedestrians and other road users.

The command urged residents, particularly skating enthusiasts, to avoid highways and use appropriate areas where their activities would not endanger themselves or others.

The police also warned that anyone found violating the directive or engaging in activities that obstruct traffic could face sanctions.

The command said the measure was aimed at promoting public safety and ensuring the smooth movement of vehicles and pedestrians across Borno State.
