The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Adamawa/Taraba Area Command, has generated ₦156.5 million in revenue over a three-month period, underscoring the command’s renewed drive to strengthen revenue collection and enhance border security.
The Customs Area Controller disclosed that the revenue was realised between May and July 2026, attributing the achievement to improved operational efficiency, intensified anti-smuggling operations, and stronger compliance with customs regulations by importers and other stakeholders.
According to the command, the impressive performance reflects ongoing efforts by the Nigeria Customs Service to improve revenue generation while facilitating legitimate trade across the Adamawa and Taraba axis. The command also noted that it has continued to strengthen surveillance along border corridors to curb smuggling and other cross-border crimes.
The Area Controller commended officers and personnel of the command for their dedication and professionalism, urging them to sustain the momentum in revenue collection and enforcement activities. He also acknowledged the cooperation of sister security agencies and law-abiding traders, whose support has contributed to the command’s operational successes.
The command reaffirmed its commitment to protecting Nigeria’s borders, suppressing smuggling, and ensuring full compliance with customs laws, while encouraging members of the public to provide credible information that will aid efforts to combat illegal cross-border activities.
The Nigeria Customs Service has continued to intensify reforms aimed at boosting national revenue, facilitating legitimate trade, and improving border management in line with the Federal Government’s economic and security objectives.
