Premier League side Fulham have completed the signing of Spanish forward Gonzalo Garcia from Real Madrid in a deal reportedly worth €40 million, with the young striker reuniting with former mentor Alvaro Arbeloa at Craven Cottage.

Both clubs confirmed the transfer on Monday, marking another significant addition to Fulham’s squad ahead of the new Premier League season.

Garcia has signed a long-term contract that will keep him at the London club until 2031, with Fulham retaining the option to extend the agreement by a further year.

Spanish media reports indicate that Real Madrid negotiated a sell-on clause worth 30 per cent as part of the transfer agreement, ensuring the Spanish giants could benefit from any future move involving the 22-year-old.

Garcia arrives in England after enjoying the most productive campaign of his career with Real Madrid. The striker found the net eight times in all competitions last season, including six goals in La Liga, highlighted by an impressive hat-trick against Real Betis in January.

His move also sees him reunited with Fulham manager Alvaro Arbeloa, who previously worked with the striker during his time in Real Madrid’s youth system before taking charge of the senior team earlier this year.

Garcia is not the only player making the switch from Madrid to west London. Promising attacking midfielder Cesar Palacios has also joined Fulham after emerging as a first-team option under Arbeloa during the latter part of last season.

The arrivals form part of Fulham’s ambitious rebuilding project under the Spanish coach as the club looks to strengthen its squad for the upcoming campaign.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid continue reshaping their own squad after appointing experienced Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho to replace Arbeloa. The club has embarked on a major overhaul following two successive seasons without winning a major trophy.

Garcia is expected to provide Fulham with greater attacking firepower as the club aims to compete strongly in the Premier League during the 2026/27 season.
