The Adamawa State Government has announced the relaxation of the curfew earlier imposed on Lamurde Local Government Area following a significant improvement in the security situation.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said the revised curfew takes immediate effect and will now run daily from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. until further notice. The curfew was initially imposed to restore peace after a prolonged crisis in the area.

The Governor commended residents of Lamurde for their cooperation with security agencies, noting that their support had contributed to the gradual restoration of calm and normalcy.

According to Governor Fintiri, the improved security situation reflects the effectiveness of the government’s decisive measures aimed at ending violence and protecting lives and property.

Despite the relaxation of the curfew, the Governor warned that the state government would not tolerate any renewed breakdown of law and order. He urged residents to maintain the current peace and avoid actions capable of disrupting the progress already achieved.

Governor Fintiri also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring lasting peace in Lamurde and across Adamawa State. He directed security agencies to maintain a strong presence in the area and continue enforcing law and order.

He further called on traditional rulers, community leaders, youth and women groups, and all residents to embrace dialogue, respect the rule of law, and work together to preserve the state’s long-standing values of peace, tolerance, and unity.
