Troops conducting security operations in Benue State have killed two suspected bandits and rescued three kidnapped victims during a clearance operation aimed at tackling criminal activities in the area.
The operation, according to security sources, was carried out after troops received intelligence on the activities of armed criminals terrorising communities in the state. The forces engaged the suspects in a confrontation, leading to the death of two bandits.
During the operation, three kidnap victims were rescued and taken to safety. Authorities said the victims are receiving necessary support while efforts are ongoing to reunite them with their families.
The military has intensified operations across Benue and other parts of the country as part of efforts to combat banditry, kidnapping, and other security threats.
