The National Examinations Council (NECO) has dismissed allegations that it operates a so-called “miracle centre” in Kogi State, describing the claim as misleading and reaffirming its commitment to maintaining the credibility of the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).

The examination body said the centre in question is a recognised public secondary school and not an illegal examination location established to facilitate malpractice.

NECO explained that it has continued to enforce strict measures against examination misconduct while ensuring that only qualified and properly registered candidates participate in its examinations. The council maintained that it has zero tolerance for any activity capable of undermining the integrity of the examination process.

The clarification followed public discussions surrounding the examination centre after concerns were raised over activities linked to the school. NECO said such claims should not be used to discredit genuine students, teachers, or institutions without proper investigation.

The council further stated that its monitoring systems, security measures, and collaboration with relevant authorities are designed to identify and prevent examination malpractice across the country.

NECO urged members of the public to rely on verified information and avoid spreading claims that could damage the reputation of students and schools involved.

The examination body reaffirmed its commitment to delivering credible, transparent, and fair assessments that meet national and international standards while protecting the future of Nigerian students.
