Nollywood actress and filmmaker Adunni Ade has announced the death of her mother, who passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2026, after a prolonged illness.
The actress disclosed the sad news on Monday through a post on her official Instagram page, where she shared photographs of her late mother and expressed grief over the loss.
In her emotional tribute, Ade began with the Islamic declaration, Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un, expressing her acceptance of the will of Almighty Allah.
She wrote that her beloved mother had returned to her Creator after battling an undisclosed illness for a long time.
The actress also acknowledged the pain of losing her mother and prayed for Allah to forgive her shortcomings, show her mercy and grant her eternal rest in paradise.
According to Ade, her mother is survived by her children, grandchildren, sisters and other loved ones who will continue to cherish her memory.

In her farewell message, the actress expressed her enduring love for her mother and prayed that they would be reunited in Jannah.
