Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has joined seven other players in camp as Nigeria intensifies preparations for Friday’s 2028 Olympic qualifying first-leg clash against Comoros in Ikenne-Remo.
Ajibade’s arrival, alongside Michelle Alozie, Christy Ucheibe, Toni Payne, Jennifer Echegini, Folashade Ijamilusi and Janet Akekoromowei, has increased the number of players in camp to 21.
Five more players are expected to arrive by Tuesday evening, including goalkeepers Chiamaka Nnadozie and Comfort Erhabor, as well as forwards Gift Monday, Joy Omewa and Uchenna Kanu.
The encounter, initially scheduled to take place in Comoros, has been moved to the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo, with kick-off set for 6pm on Friday.
The Super Falcons continued their preparations with a training session on Monday as the squad works towards securing a strong advantage before the second leg.
CAF has appointed Rwandan official Henriette Byukusenge as the centre referee for the fixture. She will be assisted by compatriots Sandrine Murangwa and Regine Mukayiranga, while Aline Umutoni will serve as fourth official.
Namibia’s Fransiska Katjaimo has been named referee assessor, with Burkina Faso’s Oumou Sy appointed match commissioner.
Meanwhile, the Comoros women’s team arrived in Ijebu-Ode on Monday night and are scheduled to begin their preparations in Ikenne-Remo.
The Falcons will be aiming to make home advantage count as they begin their journey towards qualification for the 2028 Olympic Games.
