Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued two victims who came under attack by armed terrorists along the Anka–Gadan Manya Road in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The victims were rescued on October 4 when troops conducting a routine patrol encountered armed terrorists attacking two people travelling on a motorcycle.
According to a security source, the soldiers immediately intervened and engaged the attackers, forcing them to flee and abandon the victims.
The two victims were subsequently rescued by the troops and taken to safety.
Following the incident, security forces intensified patrols along the Anka–Gadan Manya axis to prevent terrorists from operating freely in the area and to protect residents and other road users.
The intervention comes amid continued security challenges across parts of Zamfara State, where armed groups have carried out attacks and abductions along rural communities and major routes.
The military’s continued patrols under Operation FANSAN YAMMA are aimed at disrupting terrorist activities, protecting civilians and denying criminal elements freedom of movement across the North-West.
