Xiaomi is set to introduce its latest smartphone lineup in Nigeria on September 30, with the Redmi Note 17 series bringing battery capacities of up to 10,000mAh to the country’s competitive smartphone market.

The lineup comprises the Redmi Note 17, Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G, targeting different segments of the mid-range market.

The Pro Max 5G will be the headline device, featuring a 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, 100W HyperCharge and 27W wired reverse charging. Xiaomi says the battery is designed to support extended use, particularly for consumers who rely heavily on their phones for streaming, gaming, navigation, social media and mobile work.

The Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G comes with an 8,340mAh battery and 67W charging, while the standard Redmi Note 17 has a 7,700mAh battery and 45W charging.

The launch comes as smartphone manufacturers compete for Nigerian consumers through battery life, cameras, processing power and display technology.

For Xiaomi, the new series places battery endurance at the centre of its pitch to the Nigerian market, with the 10,000mAh model marking a significant departure from the battery capacities traditionally associated with smartphones
