The Nigerian Navy has announced the opening of applications for its 2026 Batch 39 Basic Training School recruitment exercise, with the application portal scheduled to open on October 2 and close on October 31, 2026.
The recruitment is open to eligible Nigerian citizens by birth who possess a National Identification Number and meet the prescribed educational, age, physical and medical requirements.
Applicants are expected to be physically, medically and psychologically fit and must have no previous criminal conviction. The Navy also specified minimum height requirements of 1.69 metres for male applicants and 1.65 metres for female applicants.
For candidates applying with O Level qualifications, applicants must be between 18 and 22 years as of December 31, 2026, and possess at least five credits, including Mathematics and English Language, in not more than two sittings.
Different age and qualification requirements apply to candidates with OND, NCE, trade and professional qualifications, as well as applicants in medical and sporting categories.
The Navy said applicants who complete the online registration will be required to print their acknowledgement, parent or guardian consent, Local Government attestation and guarantor certification forms.
The date and venues for the recruitment examination will be communicated to applicants in due course.
The Navy stressed that the recruitment exercise is free and warned applicants against paying money to individuals or agents claiming to have connections with the recruitment process. It also warned that submitting multiple applications would lead to disqualification.
Interested applicants are advised to use only the official Nigerian Navy recruitment channels when applications open.
