The Kano State Government has commenced a diphtheria immunisation campaign across five local government areas as part of efforts to protect residents from the infectious disease.
The exercise is targeted at eligible children and other vulnerable groups, with health officials urging parents and caregivers to ensure that those who qualify receive the vaccine.
Authorities said the campaign is aimed at strengthening disease prevention and reducing the spread of diphtheria across the state. Health workers are expected to administer the vaccines at designated health facilities and other approved vaccination points.
Residents have also been encouraged to cooperate with health officials and take advantage of the immunisation exercise to safeguard their families and communities.
