Veteran Yoruba actor, Peter Fatomilola, has said he was unaware that fellow actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, was battling serious health challenges before the issue became public.
Fatomilola made the disclosure in an upcoming interview with African A-List, also known as AfricanaList. He described Ogogo as being like a son to him and said he would have sought advice from more knowledgeable people had he known about the actor’s condition.
Ogogo’s daughter had earlier appealed publicly for assistance with her father’s treatment after his family disclosed that he had been diagnosed with stage-four cancer.
According to reports, Ogogo died on August 23, 2026, at the age of 66, after battling the illness.
Fatomilola said people facing serious challenges should seek guidance from those with relevant knowledge and experience rather than keeping such difficulties hidden until they become difficult to manage.
