The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs has announced plans to hold a Special National Prayer for Nigeria on Wednesday, September 30, followed by its General Assembly on Thursday, October 1, in Abuja.
According to the council, the prayer will take place at the Abuja National Mosque Complex from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and will focus on peace, stability and progress in Nigeria.
The NSCIA said the prayer would provide Muslims with an opportunity to seek divine guidance, protection and blessings for the country and its citizens.
The council’s General Assembly will hold at the same venue from 10 a.m. on October 1. It is described as the highest decision-making organ of the NSCIA and will bring together representatives of Islamic organisations, state councils and Muslim public office holders, among other stakeholders.
The council urged invited participants to make adequate preparations for the two-day programme and encouraged Muslims across Nigeria to pray for continued peace, unity, security, good governance and sustainable development.
