Parents of the abducted Borno school pupils have threatened to march to the Presidential Villa in Abuja to demand urgent action over the continued captivity of their children, who have now spent 130 days in the hands of their abductors.
The parents’ threat comes amid growing frustration over the prolonged absence of their children and the lack of a resolution to the abduction. They are demanding intensified efforts by the Federal Government and security agencies to secure the pupils’ safe release.
The development has renewed concerns over the safety of schoolchildren in areas affected by insecurity in the North-East, particularly Borno State, which has faced years of attacks and abductions linked to insurgency.
The parents’ planned action is intended to draw greater attention to the plight of the abducted pupils and put pressure on the authorities to intensify rescue efforts.
As the children approach the 130-day mark in captivity, their families continue to call for their safe return, urging the government to treat the situation with urgency.
