US President Donald Trump is addressing world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, with the war involving Iran, the conflict in Ukraine and wider questions about global security expected to feature prominently in his speech.
Trump’s appearance at the 81st General Assembly comes amid heightened international tensions and continued disruption to energy and shipping markets linked to the Middle East conflict. The US president is expected to defend his administration’s approach to Iran and argue that preventing Tehran from obtaining a nuclear weapon remains a central security objective.
Trump is also expected to discuss efforts to advance peace in Ukraine and Gaza, while outlining his administration’s broader approach to international relations and American sovereignty.
