A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and federal lawmaker, Abdulmumin Jibrin, has described the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, as an asset to the ruling party.
Jibrin made the statement while speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday night, amid criticism of Wike by some APC governors over his continued membership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, while supporting President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
The lawmaker said Wike had made significant political sacrifices in support of Tinubu and the APC, adding that his contributions should be recognised rather than subjected to public criticism.
Jibrin also urged APC governors who have disagreements with Wike to engage him privately and resolve their differences through dialogue.
He cited Wike’s political activities in Rivers State and the Federal Capital Territory as part of his contributions to the political efforts surrounding the Tinubu administration.
Jibrin maintained that Wike should not be publicly embarrassed, despite remaining a member of the PDP while supporting the President.
