Amazon has raised the minimum hourly pay for eligible full time US operations workers by $1 to $20, the company said Wednesday.

Amazon also introduced “Day 1 Financial,” a new benefit giving eligible employees and their families lifetime access to low cost banking services through First Tech Federal Credit Union.

The company said average total compensation for these workers will now exceed $32 an hour when benefits are included.

Amazon already provides healthcare coverage from $5 a week, free Prime memberships and prepaid education programs.
