Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON, has approved the constitution of a new Board for the Adamawa State Teachers Service Commission, with Dr. Saleh Bukar appointed as Chairman.
The newly constituted Commission has Mrs. Irene Hamadu, Rev. Daniel Bulus and Alh. Adamu Bello as Permanent Members, while Alh. Isa Mohammed, Usman Pius Ayuba and Mrs. Bless Calvin will serve as Part Time Members.
In a statement issued on September 11, 2026, by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Humwashi Wonosikou, Governor Fintiri congratulated the new Chairman and members, expressing confidence in their ability to effectively carry out the responsibilities entrusted to them.
The Governor said strengthening the Teachers Service Commission remains important to his administration’s efforts to improve teacher recruitment, welfare, discipline and professional development across primary and post primary schools in the state.
He charged the new Board to justify the confidence placed in them by working diligently to reposition the Commission and promote a stronger and more effective teaching profession capable of improving learning outcomes.
Governor Fintiri further urged the members to uphold transparency, fairness, accountability and diligence in the discharge of their duties, stressing that their work should ultimately benefit teachers, pupils and the broader education system in Adamawa State.
