Members of the Tiv community in Taraba State have commended the All Progressives Congress (APC) for what they described as a growing commitment to inclusivity and broad-based representation within the party.
The commendation came as Tiv stakeholders and supporters celebrated the emergence and leadership of the APC State Women Leader, Tor-Mchivga, whom they described as a symbol of inclusion and an important voice for women and minority communities within the party.
The Tiv community expressed appreciation for the recognition accorded to its members, saying the development demonstrated that political participation and leadership opportunities could be extended across ethnic and demographic lines.
According to the stakeholders, Tor-Mchivga’s position represents an encouraging development for women in Taraba politics and underscores the importance of providing opportunities for competent individuals from diverse backgrounds to contribute to the growth of the party.
They also praised the APC leadership in the state for creating an environment that promotes participation and gives women a stronger role in party administration and political mobilisation.
The celebrants urged Tor-Mchivga to use her position to promote unity, inclusiveness and constructive engagement among party members, while championing issues affecting women and other underrepresented groups.
