CBS Sports’ much loved Champions League studio team is back for another season, bringing with it the mix of football analysis, jokes and playful arguments that has made the programme a favourite among viewers.
Presenter Kate Scott is once again joined by former Premier League stars Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards, with the quartet preparing to resume their lively exchanges around Europe’s biggest club competition.
The chemistry between the four has become a major part of the appeal of CBS’s Champions League coverage. Rather than sticking to the formal tone often associated with football punditry, the programme allows its personalities to clash, tease one another and react spontaneously to events on and off the pitch.
Carragher and Richards have developed reputations as the panel’s biggest sources of humour, while Henry often brings a more measured analytical approach. Scott acts as the central figure who keeps discussions moving, although she has also become an active participant in the jokes directed across the desk.
Their relationship has frequently produced memorable television. Scott has previously poked fun at Richards over his limited Champions League appearances, while Richards has regularly returned the favour with jokes aimed at his fellow analysts and the presenter.
The dynamic has helped turn the programme into something closer to a football conversation among friends than a conventional studio discussion. That relaxed approach has proved particularly effective with American audiences, while also attracting a substantial international following.
The panel’s return comes as the Champions League enters another season of high-profile fixtures and increased global attention. CBS has been broadcasting the competition in the United States since 2020, building a distinctive identity around its coverage.

Behind the humour, the panel also brings significant playing experience. Henry is a former Arsenal and France great and a Champions League winner, while Carragher spent his entire senior club career at Liverpool and won the competition in 2005. Richards enjoyed a successful career with Manchester City and England before moving into broadcasting.
Scott, meanwhile, has established herself as one of the leading football presenters on American television, having anchored CBS’s Champions League coverage for several seasons.
With the new campaign underway, viewers can expect the familiar combination of tactical discussion, strong opinions and plenty of teasing. If previous seasons are any indication, the biggest disagreements may not necessarily come from the football itself.
For CBS, that chemistry is part of the formula. The panel’s willingness to challenge each other, laugh at themselves and occasionally descend into chaos has helped give Champions League coverage a personality of its own.
And with Henry, Carragher and Richards back around the same desk, the friendly irritation is clearly ready to begin again.
