Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has stepped into the world of entrepreneurship with the launch of DIIDS, a new lifestyle brand designed for both men and women.

The brand was unveiled in Lagos on August 31, marking a significant move for the Nigerian international as he begins to build a business identity beyond his successful football career.

DIIDS launches with a collection of premium everyday essentials, with Ndidi hoping to develop the venture into a recognised lifestyle brand with roots in Africa and ambitions of reaching a global audience.

The midfielder said the decision to venture into business was driven by his desire to create something that could exist beyond his years on the football pitch.

“Football has given me a platform, but I know there is life beyond the game. DIIDS is an opportunity for me to build something that reflects my interests and can stand on its own as a brand,” Ndidi said.

The launch is part of a wider personal vision built around Ndidi’s “WN, Built for Legacy” identity, which reflects his ambition to transition from professional footballer into an entrepreneur, media personality, mentor and creator of opportunities.

For Ndidi, the entrepreneurial journey is closely connected to the values he developed while growing up in Nigeria.

The former Leicester City midfielder recalled helping his mother sell fruit as a youngster and also selling groundnuts, experiences that taught him important lessons about discipline, hard work and determination.

His childhood business activities earned him the nickname “Omolepa”, a name that Ndidi says remains connected to his approach to business and life.

“I want to leave every place better than I found it. For me, that is what legacy means,” he said.

The launch of DIIDS represents the first step in Ndidi’s long-term ambition to establish a brand that extends beyond football.

While his career on the pitch continues, the Nigerian star is already laying the foundation for his post-football future, with DIIDS expected to evolve from its African beginnings into a globally recognised lifestyle brand.

Ndidi’s latest venture adds another dimension to the career of a player who has established himself at the highest level of professional football while now preparing to build a lasting legacy away from the game.
