Powell Homes and Shelters Limited has introduced a new promotional scheme offering prospective property buyers in Enugu discounts tied to their preferred payment options, as part of efforts to make real estate ownership more accessible.

The initiative, known as the Real Estate Ownership Made Easy programme, was unveiled during an industry gathering in Enugu attended by about 1,200 investors, real estate professionals and other stakeholders.

The promotion, which runs until September 30, 2026, provides buyers with flexible payment arrangements across the company’s property portfolio.

A major component of the initiative focuses on Glory Layout, a new development in Enugu where plots are being offered at ₦1.5 million.

Under the promotional terms, customers who make outright payments will receive a 10 per cent discount on the listed price. Buyers who prefer to spread their payments over 12 months will receive a five per cent discount.

The company said the initiative was designed to reduce some of the financial barriers associated with property acquisition while providing prospective investors with greater flexibility in managing their finances.

For an outright buyer purchasing a ₦1.5 million plot, the 10 per cent discount translates to a ₦150,000 reduction, bringing the promotional price to ₦1.35 million.

Customers opting for the 12 month payment plan would receive a five per cent discount, equivalent to ₦75,000, reducing the effective cost to ₦1.425 million under the promotional arrangement.

The company’s management said the initiative was also aimed at expanding property ownership among Nigerians who may find conventional real estate payment structures difficult to meet.

The flexible payment structure is expected to appeal particularly to individuals and families seeking to acquire land while managing other financial commitments.

The company also clarified that the discounts offered under the programme are separate from the normal commission arrangements applicable to real estate agents and other sales partners.

For customers choosing the instalment option, payments are expected to be completed within the agreed 12 month period. Buyers who anticipate difficulties in meeting the schedule are expected to communicate with the company regarding their circumstances.

The promotion comes as property developers across Nigeria continue to explore different strategies to stimulate demand amid rising construction costs and affordability challenges in the housing market.

Flexible payment plans have increasingly become an important tool for developers seeking to attract buyers, particularly as the cost of land and building materials continues to put home ownership beyond the immediate reach of many Nigerians.

The Enugu initiative therefore combines direct price reductions with payment flexibility, giving prospective buyers the option of either securing a larger discount through immediate payment or spreading the financial commitment over a longer period.

The company said the promotional rates would expire on September 30, with no immediate commitment to extend the offer beyond the stated deadline.

Prospective buyers interested in taking advantage of the scheme are therefore expected to complete their transactions within the promotional period and confirm the applicable terms before making payments.

The initiative is expected to add further activity to Enugu’s growing property market while encouraging more residents and investors to consider land acquisition as part of their long term financial plans.
