The Taraba State Government has announced plans to digitise its revenue collection system as part of efforts to improve internally generated revenue and curb leakages.
The initiative is expected to introduce more transparent and efficient processes for revenue collection while reducing opportunities for diversion and other forms of financial irregularities.
The government said the move would strengthen revenue administration and ensure that funds generated by the state are properly accounted for and channelled towards development.
The digitisation drive is also expected to make revenue payments easier for residents, businesses and other taxpayers by reducing reliance on manual collection methods.
The state government is expected to further outline the implementation process and the agencies that will be responsible for driving the reform.
