Northern senators and the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) have demanded the immediate release of worshippers abducted during a recent attack in Borgu, Niger State.
The groups condemned the attack and expressed concern over the safety of the abducted worshippers, urging security agencies to intensify efforts to locate them and secure their safe release.
The demand comes amid growing concerns over attacks on religious gatherings and communities in parts of northern Nigeria.
The northern senators called for swift and coordinated action by security agencies, stressing the need to protect residents and prevent further attacks.
The NSCIA also urged authorities to ensure that the victims return safely to their families while perpetrators of the attack are brought to justice.
