A community in Kano State has rejected an alleged attempt to bribe residents and instead alerted authorities to a suspected drug trafficking network operating in the area.
The agency said the community’s decision to report the activities demonstrates the growing role of residents in supporting efforts to combat illicit drug trafficking and other related crimes.
According to the agency, information provided by members of the community helped draw attention to the suspected network, potentially assisting ongoing efforts to identify those involved and disrupt their activities.
The agency commended the residents for refusing to compromise their position and urged other communities to continue providing credible information to security and law enforcement authorities.
It stressed that community cooperation remains essential in tackling drug-related offences and protecting vulnerable members of society from the effects of illicit substances.
