The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has commenced a specialised training programme for healthcare workers as part of efforts to strengthen emergency medical services and improve the quality of care available to residents of the territory.

The training is aimed at equipping health professionals with the knowledge and practical skills required to respond effectively to medical emergencies and provide timely care to patients.

The initiative is expected to improve the capacity of healthcare workers to manage critical cases, particularly situations requiring immediate intervention and coordinated emergency response.

Officials of the FCTA said strengthening the skills of frontline health workers remains essential to reducing avoidable deaths and improving outcomes for patients who require urgent medical attention.

Participants are expected to receive practical guidance on emergency assessment, stabilisation of patients, rapid response procedures and other essential aspects of emergency healthcare delivery.

The programme is also expected to promote better coordination among healthcare professionals and improve the overall efficiency of emergency response within healthcare facilities across the Federal Capital Territory.

The FCTA said the training forms part of its broader efforts to strengthen the territory’s healthcare system through continuous professional development and capacity building.

Healthcare workers participating in the programme are expected to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to improve emergency services in their respective facilities.

The administration further emphasised the importance of investing in healthcare personnel, noting that well-trained medical professionals are critical to building a responsive and effective healthcare system.

The training is expected to contribute to improved emergency care delivery and better health outcomes for residents of the FCT as the administration continues its efforts to upgrade healthcare services across the territory.
