Rabiu Kwankwaso has explained his decision to work with Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 presidential election, saying the move was driven by the desire to build a stronger political alternative for Nigerians.
The former Kano State governor and presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party said his decision was influenced by shared concerns over Nigeria’s economic difficulties, insecurity, unemployment and the need for better governance.
Kwankwaso said working with Obi was aimed at bringing together political forces that could offer Nigerians a credible alternative to the ruling party and other major political platforms.
He stressed that the interests and welfare of Nigerians should remain at the centre of political discussions as the country moves closer to the 2027 general elections.
The alliance comes amid increasing political realignments, as politicians and political parties continue to form partnerships and strengthen their structures ahead of the 2027
