President Bola Tinubu on Thursday received Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where the two leaders held a closed-door meeting.
Adeleke arrived at the Villa at about 5:25 p.m., accompanied by National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu. Several Osun officials later joined him, including Senator Lere Oyewumi, Sunday Bisi, Chief of Staff Akinleye Kazeem and House of Representatives member Bamidele Salam.
The meeting was Adeleke’s first known encounter with Tinubu at the Villa since his victory in the August 15 Osun governorship election.
Adeleke presented his Certificate of Return to the President after securing 511,067 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes.
The governor later said his visit was mainly to thank Tinubu for allowing the electoral process to proceed freely and fairly. He also commended the President for congratulating him after the election and encouraging him to unite the people of Osun State.
The meeting comes amid increased political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
