The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Kaduna State University chapter, has commended the Kaduna State Government for what it described as significant improvements in funding and staff welfare at the institution.

The union acknowledged the government’s efforts to address some of the challenges affecting the university, particularly in the areas of funding and the welfare of academic staff.

ASUU said the improved support has contributed to better working conditions and strengthened the institution’s capacity to carry out its academic responsibilities.

The commendation comes amid recent discussions over the welfare of lecturers at Kaduna State University and concerns about staff retention.

The union, however, noted that some issues affecting the university remain unresolved and called for continued dialogue between the government, university management and ASUU to address outstanding concerns.

ASUU expressed its readiness to work with relevant stakeholders to ensure sustainable improvements in the institution and promote quality teaching, research and learning.

The union said continued investment in the university would benefit both staff and students while contributing to the development of Kaduna State’s education sector.
