The Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS) has announced that applicants for its ongoing recruitment exercise can now check the status of their applications through the agency’s official recruitment portal.
The agency made this known in a notice signed by its Director of Human Resources, ACG Issaka Ahmed, and published on its official X handle on Wednesday.
According to the notice, applicants can verify their status by visiting the official recruitment portal, recruitment.naqs.gov.ng, and using their registered details.
NAQS said applicants whose status shows that they have progressed to the next stage should begin preparations for the Computer Based Test (CBT), which is scheduled to commence online through the recruitment portal from Thursday, August 20, 2026.
The agency said further information regarding the specific CBT schedule would be communicated to shortlisted applicants through their registered email addresses.
NAQS also urged applicants to remain vigilant and rely only on official information from the agency to avoid falling victim to fraudulent recruitment messages.
The announcement follows the agency’s earlier postponement of the release of the recruitment shortlist, which was initially scheduled for August 13. NAQS had explained that the delay was necessary to ensure a thorough, transparent and accurate recruitment process.
The recruitment exercise opened on July 28 and closed on August 10, attracting significant interest from Nigerians across the country.
According to NAQS, the exercise recorded 606,928 attempted applications, out of which 407,659 applications were successfully submitted.
