The Delta State Police Command has re-arrested eight of the 11 suspects who escaped from lawful custody at a police facility in Ughelli, Delta State.

The suspects were re-arrested following intelligence-led operations by police operatives, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining three suspects.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Ani Iniedu, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday as part of the Nigeria Police Force’s 24-hour operational successes across the country.

According to the police, the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Asaba for further investigation.

The command said it would continue its efforts to locate the remaining escapees and ensure they are brought back into custody.
