Singer and actress Selena Gomez has been sued by five investors who accuse her of failing to fulfil commitments connected to Wondermind Global, a mental health startup she co founded with her mother, Mandy Teefey, and entrepreneur Daniella Pierson.

The investors, who put nearly $1.2 million into the company, filed a lawsuit in federal court in Delaware on Thursday. They are seeking to recover their investments as well as legal fees and other damages.

According to the lawsuit, investors were told that Gomez would play an active role in developing and promoting Wondermind as its head of marketing. They allege that the company failed to deliver on several promises, including the development of a mobile application and other planned commercial initiatives.

The investors further accuse the company’s founders and executives of failing to meet basic financial obligations, including making timely payments to employees and vendors.

The lawsuit claims that Gomez signed an agreement requiring her to perform certain duties but subsequently failed to fulfil those obligations. The investors allege that the company was already experiencing serious financial difficulties while they remained unaware of the situation.

The plaintiffs said they only became aware of the extent of Wondermind’s problems after an investigative report published in September 2025 raised concerns about the company’s finances and management.

Wondermind was launched in 2021 with the goal of making mental health content more accessible and helping users improve their mental wellbeing. Gomez had publicly discussed her own mental health experiences before launching the platform.

Gomez remains listed as a co founder of Wondermind, while her mother currently serves as chief executive following Pierson’s departure from the company.

The lawsuit also names other individuals connected to the business. One of the investors is Brent Saunders, chief executive of eye health company Bausch + Lomb.

Gomez’s representatives had not immediately responded to requests for comment on the allegations at the time of the report.

The allegations contained in the lawsuit have not been proven in court.
