Mayo Belwa District Heads Praise NEDC for Transformative Projects.

Five traditional district heads from Mayo Belwa Local Government Area of Adamawa State have commended the North East Development Commission (NEDC) for its interventions aimed at improving infrastructure and socio economic development across the area.

The traditional leaders, from Bajama, Gorobi, Yagba, Gengle and Nasarawo Jereng districts, made the commendation during a courtesy visit to the NEDC State Office in Yola to strengthen collaboration and discuss the development needs of their communities.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the Archbishop of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN), Most Rev. Musa Panti Filibus, appreciated the Commission for its completed and ongoing projects in Mayo Belwa and other parts of Adamawa State.

He said the interventions had provided significant relief to communities while contributing to improved infrastructure and economic development.

Responding, the Adamawa State Coordinator of NEDC, Barr. Khalifa Muhammad Lawan, thanked the traditional leaders for their visit and described it as a demonstration of community support and partnership.

Lawan assured the delegation that the Commission would continue to collaborate with communities in Mayo Belwa and other parts of Adamawa State to accelerate development.

He highlighted some of NEDC’s ongoing and completed interventions, including road construction and other critical infrastructure projects across the state and the Northeast.

The State Coordinator also disclosed that the Commission would soon commence its electric vehicle program, with Adamawa State expected to benefit from more than 1,000 vehicles, including buses, cars and tricycles.

According to him, the initiative is designed to promote sustainable transportation, improve mobility and reduce transportation challenges across the Northeast.

Lawan assured the district heads that Mayo Belwa would continue to receive attention under NEDC intervention programs and urged them to sustain their partnership with the Commission.

The visit ended with both sides reaffirming their commitment to continued collaboration towards improving the wellbeing and development of communities in Mayo Belwa and Adamawa State.
