The Kano State Government has suspended the implementation of a malaria intervention programme pending the outcome of an investigation into its execution, reaffirming its commitment to transparency and accountability in the health sector.

State authorities said the decision was taken following concerns over the programme’s implementation, prompting a comprehensive review to assess compliance with established guidelines and ensure that public health interventions achieve their intended objectives.

The government noted that the investigation is aimed at identifying any administrative or operational shortcomings and recommending appropriate measures to strengthen future healthcare initiatives.

Officials emphasized that the suspension is a precautionary step and does not diminish the state’s commitment to combating malaria, one of the leading public health challenges affecting communities across Kano.

The government assured residents that necessary actions would be taken based on the findings of the investigation, while reiterating its resolve to deliver effective, transparent and people-centred healthcare programmes.

The Kano State Government also called for the cooperation of all stakeholders as the review process continues, stressing that accountability and efficient service delivery remain central to its healthcare agenda.
