Moove, the Nigeria founded mobility fintech company, has raised $250 million in fresh funding, pushing its valuation to $2.1 billion as it accelerates the expansion of its autonomous vehicle (AV) business and strengthens its global footprint.
The latest capital injection is expected to support the company’s plans to scale its autonomous mobility operations, invest in advanced vehicle technologies and expand into new international markets where demand for innovative transportation solutions continues to grow.
Founded in 2020, Moove has grown into one of Africa’s leading mobility technology companies by providing revenue based vehicle financing to ride hailing drivers while leveraging technology to improve access to mobility assets.
Company executives said the new funding underscores growing investor confidence in Moove’s business model and its long term strategy to become a major player in the rapidly evolving autonomous mobility industry.
The investment will also enable the company to deepen partnerships with global technology firms, enhance its fleet management capabilities and deploy more autonomous vehicles across strategic markets.
Industry analysts described the funding round as another milestone for Africa’s technology ecosystem, noting that it demonstrates the increasing ability of African founded startups to attract large scale international investment.
They added that the achievement reflects growing global confidence in Nigerian entrepreneurs and the continent’s innovation ecosystem, particularly in sectors such as financial technology, mobility, artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure.
Experts believe the expansion of autonomous vehicle operations could improve transportation efficiency, reduce operating costs and contribute to the future development of smart mobility systems across several markets.
The successful fundraising is also expected to strengthen Moove’s competitive position as global investment in autonomous transportation and next generation mobility solutions continues to accelerate.
Analysts noted that the company’s latest valuation places it among Africa’s most valuable technology firms, reinforcing Nigeria’s position as a leading hub for innovation and venture capital investment on the continent.
