Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have intensified calls for former Nasarawa State Governor, Senator Tanko Umar Al-Makura, to be appointed Director-General (DG) of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The endorsement came from the APC Integrity Group, which described Al-Makura as the best candidate for the role, citing his loyalty, leadership experience, and contributions to the growth of the party.
In a statement signed by Ibrahim Mamman and Goodluck Okafor, the group said Al-Makura’s integrity, humility, and ability to unite party members make him the ideal person to lead the APC’s campaign.
The stakeholders said his experience in governance, legislation, and party administration would strengthen the campaign, improve party unity, and boost the APC’s chances of winning the 2027 presidential election.
They urged the party leadership to appoint Al-Makura, insisting that merit, competence, and proven leadership should guide the selection of the campaign council’s Director-General.
