The All Progressives Congress, APC, has appointed Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State as a member of its National Campaign Council for the Osun State Governorship Election scheduled to hold on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
According to a statement issued by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the campaign council will be chaired by the Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Senator Hope Uzodimma. Governor Mai Mala Buni, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, will serve as Co-Chairmen.
The council comprises governors, members of the APC National Working Committee, principal officers of the National Assembly, ministers, federal and state lawmakers, and other key party stakeholders. Governor Fintiri is among those appointed to help coordinate the party’s campaign activities ahead of the Osun governorship election.
The APC also announced the formation of specialised sub-committees to oversee critical aspects of the campaign, including election planning, finance, grassroots mobilisation, logistics, media and publicity, security, youth mobilisation, and women’s mobilisation.
The National Campaign Council and its sub-committees are scheduled to be inaugurated on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the Transcorp Hilton Event Centre in Abuja by 12:00 noon.
