The United States has strongly condemned the killing of members of the family of Plateau-based cleric, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, describing the attack as horrific and calling for those responsible to be brought to justice.
In a statement issued by the US Department of State’s Bureau of African Affairs, Washington expressed its condolences to the victims’ families and all those affected by the attack. The US also urged Nigerian authorities to strengthen efforts to prevent further violence and ensure that those behind the killings are held accountable.
The statement noted that the continued attacks on Christian communities and other vulnerable populations in Nigeria’s Middle Belt remain deeply concerning. It added that the US has engaged Nigerian officials on the issue and reaffirmed its support for efforts aimed at improving security and protecting civilians.
The attack, which reportedly claimed the lives of several members of Rev. Dachomo’s family, has drawn widespread condemnation from both local and international observers, with renewed calls for decisive action to end recurring violence in Plateau State.
