The Budget Office of the Federation has told the House of Representatives that no public funds were spent on the Presidential Economic Advisory Council, PEAC, or the Presidential Fiscal and Investment Policy Committee, PFIPC.

The clarification was made during a legislative engagement after lawmakers sought explanations over reports suggesting that government funds may have been used to finance the activities of the two advisory bodies. According to officials of the Budget Office, neither PEAC nor PFIPC received any budgetary allocation from the Federal Government.

The office explained that no expenditure was recorded for either committee in the national budget, assuring lawmakers that public funds were not used to fund their operations. The statement is expected to address concerns over transparency and accountability in government spending as the House continues its oversight of public institutions.
