Ukrainian drone strikes hit two warehouses in Russia overnight, local authorities said on Wednesday, as Kyiv continued its campaign against logistics and military related infrastructure far from the front lines.
Regional officials said the attacks caused fires at two warehouse facilities, prompting emergency services to respond. Authorities said the blazes were brought under control, while assessments of the damage were continuing. They did not immediately report any fatalities.
Russia’s Defence Ministry said its air defence systems intercepted multiple Ukrainian drones targeting several regions during the overnight attacks. Officials did not specify whether the damaged warehouses were linked to military operations or civilian commercial activities.
Ukraine has not officially commented on the reported strikes. Kyiv rarely confirms responsibility for attacks inside Russian territory but has said it considers military, industrial and logistical facilities supporting Russia’s war effort to be legitimate targets.
The latest strikes come as both Russia and Ukraine continue to intensify long range drone attacks, targeting infrastructure, fuel depots and supply hubs in an effort to disrupt each other’s military operations. The exchanges have become a regular feature of the conflict as both sides seek to weaken logistical support behind the front lines.
Military analysts said attacks on warehouses and transport infrastructure are intended to slow the movement of equipment and supplies, although the full impact of the latest strikes has not yet been independently verified.
