The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 26-year-old cleaner, Mohammed Dan-Azumi, for allegedly stealing a vehicle belonging to a serving National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) doctor.
The suspect was arrested following an intelligence-led investigation into the disappearance of the 2016 Toyota Corolla Sport, valued at about ₦18 million.
According to the police, the vehicle was recovered in Kano after operatives traced its location during the course of the investigation. The suspect was subsequently apprehended and taken into custody.
The police said efforts are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the alleged theft and determine whether other individuals were involved.
The Command reiterated its commitment to tackling criminal activities and protecting residents’ property, while urging members of the public to report suspicious activities to security agencies.
The suspect is expected to face legal proceedings after the completion of the investigation.
