The Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Gombe State, Danladi Ya’u, has resigned from the party and joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ya’u’s defection adds to the growing political realignments in the state as parties continue to strengthen their structures and attract key stakeholders ahead of the forthcoming polls.
Following his resignation from the ADC, the former party chairman met with Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, the PDP governorship candidate in Gombe State, in what observers described as a move signalling his new political alignment.
The development has generated reactions among political stakeholders in the state, with many watching closely as more politicians make strategic moves ahead of the 2027 elections.
The PDP is expected to continue its mobilisation efforts as it seeks to consolidate support across Gombe State, while other political parties work to maintain and expand their influence ahead of the election season.
