U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that the United States could target Iran’s bridges and power plants if Tehran refuses to return to negotiations over its nuclear programme and regional security issues.

According to Reuters, Trump said the United States would intensify military pressure unless Iran resumed talks, declaring:

“Next week comes the power plants. Next week come the bridges. We’re going to knock out all their power plants. We’re going to knock out their bridges unless they get to the table and negotiate.”

Iran condemned the remarks, accusing Washington of escalating tensions and warning that any further military action would provoke a response.

Analysts say the comments could further complicate diplomatic efforts, while legal experts note that attacks on civilian infrastructure are governed by international humanitarian law and depend on whether such facilities are being used for military purposes.

The warning comes amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran, with international leaders continuing to urge both sides to pursue dialogue and avoid a broader regional conflict.
