Troops kill 274 insurgents as Nigeria records 882 attacks

ACCORDING TO PUNCH NEWS.The Nigerian military has announced that troops killed 274 insurgents during various operations across the country as Nigeria recorded a total of 882 security attacks within the review period.

According to military authorities, the operations were conducted in areas affected by terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other criminal activities. Several suspects were arrested during the operations, while troops also rescued kidnapped victims and recovered a cache of arms, ammunition and other items used by the criminals.

The military said the achievements were recorded through coordinated air and ground offensives carried out by security forces in collaboration with other security agencies. It noted that the operations are part of ongoing efforts to degrade the capabilities of insurgent groups and restore peace to troubled communities.

Despite the successes, the report showed that the country continues to face significant security challenges, with the 882 attacks resulting in loss of lives, destruction of property and the displacement of many residents in affected areas.

Security analysts have called for increased intelligence sharing, improved surveillance and stronger collaboration among security agencies to tackle the persistent threats and ensure lasting peace and stability across the country.
